Who We Are

I do it for you is a foundation dedicated to cleaning beaches in Watamu, Kenya. Our goal is to preserve the natural beauty of the Kenyan coastlines and protect marine life from pollution. Our team is made up of passionate individuals who share a deep love for the ocean and its inhabitants. We work tirelessly to ensure that our beaches remain clean and safe for both locals and visitors to enjoy. Join us in our mission to keep our coasts and beaches pristine for generations to come.

I do it for you traces its roots to 10-year-old Thea Bonasera and her father Giuseppe. They would go together to the beach and collect plastics, as they have done since she was 5 years old. Once, they were asked by an American tourist on whose behalf they were collecting trash, to which Thea instinctively responded, 'I do it for you'. And the idea for the foundation was born. With the help of her father, Giuseppe, Thea's phrase was turned into a foundation dedicated to protecting the environment.

Why Our Work Matters

Our Mission

Our beaches are more than just a source of tourism revenue. They are vital ecosystems that support a diverse range of marine creatures and provide a home for many communities. Unfortunately, pollution and waste have put these habitats at risk. We believe that everyone has a responsibility to protect our coasts and beaches for future generations. That's why we are committed to cleaning up our shores and educating the public about the importance of preserving our natural resources.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a world where beaches and oceans are free from pollution and plastic waste. We want to see a future where everyone understands the value of our coasts and takes action to protect them. Through our community outreach programs and beach cleanups, we hope to inspire a generation of ocean advocates who will continue to safeguard our planet's precious resources.
